The 2015 CEV Volleyball European Championship - Men in Bulgaria and Italy is the 29th edition in the history of the competition. Curiously, it is namely Italy and Bulgaria that are the first two hosts of the championship – in 1948 and 1950, respectively.
The nation with the most European Championship titles so far is the reigning 2013 champion Russia, which inherits 12 more titles from its predecessor, the Soviet Union. Adding 3 silver and 5 bronze medals to its tally, Russia is #1 in total number of medals with a count of 21. Italy is second in both rankings with 6 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.
